    RuneScape involves a brand new user interface

    The shift to RuneScape involves a brand new user interface. The Backpack bar is gone with OSRS gold, and the icons currently hug the bounds of whatever device you’re currently playing on. The layout of these battle buttons have been enhanced, so that you have less clutter in the way whilst fighting.I could tell you how each button has moved or how some menus have been corrected, but take my word on this. They’ve corrected the UI for us cellular players, and we will not need to wait too long before Early Access.I was lucky enough to find time with Jason, Milena, a Jagex employee who is responsible for getting Runescape onto mobile.

    What aspect of RuneScape needed the uninstalled from the Beta? “That would be the consumer interfaces. Obtaining a game which has been powerful on PC is not quite as easy as you might think. Players socialize with the 2 devices in manners that are different, so it just makes sense for the user interfaces to accommodate a different type of interaction. Is how can we create interactable items obvious to these players? The PC includes a mouse which allows for different cursor types for these interactable items. Conveying this to customers mobile is a totally different challenge.”

    Were you worried that the cellular version of RuneScape could lose its magical? “In short, no. But when you play any one of the many MMORPGs, each one has their own feeling. RuneScape has a feeling like no other MMORPG on the market, so it was critical we get that feeling across to cellular.”
